The choice was taken after the NDA alliance secured a landslide victory within the Bihar meeting elections.

Singh, a former MP from Ara in Bihar, had criticized the BJP and NDA management over the previous few months and had made a sequence of accusations in opposition to the Nitish Kumar-led authorities in Bihar.
