The Indian Society of Endodontics has awarded its highest award, the IES Medal of Honor, to Dr. N. Rajiva Shetty, a pioneer in endodontics in India. He has the honour of being the primary endodontist from Karnataka.

The IES Medal of Honor was conferred on Dr. N. Rajiva Shetty by Goa Well being Minister Vishwajit Rane and IES President Dr. MR Srinivasan on the opening ceremony of the IES Nationwide Convention held in Goa on November 1. The medal was handed over to Dr. Ashish Shetty, son of Dr. N. Rajiva Shetty.

An eminent instructor, Dr. N. Rajeeva Shetty is the previous Principal and Superintendent of Authorities Dental Faculty, Bangalore. He was the primary Indian dentist appointed as Director of Medical Training (DME) by a state authorities in India.

Dr. N. Rajeev Shetty was born on April 25, 1933 and hails from Mangaluru in coastal Karnataka. He graduated from the College of Madras in 1957 and joined the newly established Authorities Dental Faculty (GDC) in Bangalore as a lecturer. He accomplished his Grasp’s diploma in Surgical Dentistry from Bombay College. He accomplished particular certification applications in endodontics and pediatric dentistry on the College of Pennsylvania, USA. He’s a physician who makes a speciality of root canal remedy.

He was liable for establishing, nurturing and creating Karnataka’s first Surgical Dentistry and Endodontics Division at GDC, Bangalore.

He retired from the civil service in 1991. In recognition of his achievements, the Karnataka Rajiv Gandhi College of Well being Sciences awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2015. Honorary Diploma – Physician of Science.

He was awarded the Rajyotsava Award, considered one of Karnataka’s highest civilian recognitions, in 2005 by the Authorities of Karnataka in recognition of his many years of devoted service, excellence and contribution to his career.
