The Indian House Analysis Group (ISRO) has introduced the launch of a mission to discover the physiological, psychological and operational dynamics of area in Ladakh. gaganyatri (astronauts) and floor groups function in high-altitude environments.
The scientific information generated on crew efficiency and human elements will instantly contribute to the Gaganyaan program and future long-term missions.
The research, generally known as Mission MITRA (Interoperability Traits Mapping and Response Evaluation), will likely be carried out till April 9 at an altitude of round 3,500 meters in Leh and can simulate environmental situations resembling hypoxia, low temperature and isolation as pure analogues of spaceflight.
ISRO mentioned in a press release on Friday, April 3, 2026, “This research goals to generate vital understanding about staff interoperability between aircrew (Gaganyatris) and floor management groups and effectiveness of decision-making beneath environmental and operational stress.”
ISRO and IAF Institute of Aerospace Drugs are designing the mission, whereas Bangalore-based startup ProtoPlanet is liable for facility administration and statutory protocols.
“Crew security and efficiency are a very powerful elements in each human spaceflight mission. The crew’s means to speak successfully, adapt to emphasize, preserve psychological resilience, and help one another determines mission success and security,” the assertion mentioned.
“Analog missions performed beneath managed and reasonable situations will likely be used to know how crews behave beneath tough situations,” it added.
