Officers say a four-party memorandum (MOU) was signed in Kohima on Friday (twenty sixth September 2025) to advertise jute and new period of pure fiber cultivation in Nagaland.

The MOU was signed by the Nationwide Jute Committee (NJB), the India Jute Company Restricted (JCI), the ICAR Heart Institute of Analysis (ICAR-Crijaf) of Jute and Allied Fiber (ICAR-Crijaf), and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nagaland Authorities.

The MOU was signed by Wezope Kenye’s Agricultural Manufacturing Commissioner (APC) Nagaland (APC) Nagaland.

Efficient for 5 years between 2025-26-2030, the MOU goals to develop jute agriculture throughout Nagaland, enhance agricultural practices and introduce fibers similar to Flax, Ramie, Sisal on a pilot scale.

The contract seeks to offer farmers with various money crops, increased incomes and sustainable livelihood alternatives.
