Mehli Mistry, who resigned as Tata Trusts trustee in November final yr after being denied reappointment, has alleged gross irregularities within the administration of the Sir Dorabji Tata Belief (SDTT) and has prayed for the appointment of an administrator to run the belief.

In a submission to the Mumbai Charity Fee, enterprise lineMistry questioned the legality of the board, claiming that the latest appointments had been made in violation of Part 30A of the Maharashtra Public Belief Act, 1950. The Board of Administrators at the moment consists of Noel Tata (Chairman), Venu Srinivasan (Vice-Chairman), Vijay Singh, Darius Khambata, Bhaskar Bhatt and Neville Tata. The final two had been appointed to switch Mehli Mistry and Pramit Jhaveri, who resigned in February.

Curiously, Mr Mistry has declared that he has “no intention” of returning to the belief board, however that the board needs to be run by “competent and sincere administrators or directors”. Earlier this month, Mr. Mistry had filed a problem with the Charity Fee in opposition to the presence of Mr. Veenu Srinivasan and Mr. Vijay Singh as trustees of the Bhai Hirabai Jamsetsi Tata Navsari Charity on the grounds that they aren’t Parsi and Mumbai residents as required by the belief deed.
